Stamped and Decorative Concrete

Poured concrete patios, walks and driveways finished with patterns, colors and borders for a custom look at a practical price.

Poured concrete is the most economical way to cover a large area, and decorative finishes make it far more than gray slab. Stamping imprints stone, slate, brick or wood patterns, integral color tints the whole mix and saw-cut borders break up big pours into handsome panels.

We pour and finish decorative concrete for patios, walkways, driveways, pool decks and steps. The work is physical and time-sensitive, so we plan the pour carefully: subgrade, forms, reinforcement, joint layout and a crew sized to finish the surface before the concrete sets.

Finishes to choose from

Broom finish for traction, exposed aggregate for a pebbled look, stamped patterns that mimic natural stone and stained or tinted concrete in earth tones. Borders and contrasting bands can be saw-cut, stamped or set in pavers for a mixed-material look.

Cracks and control joints

All concrete cracks eventually. Control joints guide where it happens so the cracks are straight and hidden in a joint rather than random across the surface. Good joint layout, reinforcement and base preparation reduce cracking but cannot eliminate it.

Sealing and care

A good sealer protects color, resists stains and deicers and adds sheen if you like it. Decorative concrete needs resealing every few years. We explain the options and leave you with care instructions.

Matching to the home

Stamped patterns and tints work best when they echo what the house already says. A warm tan slate texture suits brick and cedar, and a cool gray ashlar suits painted siding and stone. We show color charts and sample boards so the surface complements the house.

Questions

Stamped Concrete FAQ

Will stamped concrete crack?

Concrete can crack. Planned control joints, reinforcement and good base preparation keep cracks straight and minimal, but we never promise a surface that cannot crack.

How long before I can walk on it?

Light foot traffic is often fine the next day. Furniture and vehicles need longer, usually a week or more depending on the mix and the weather.

Can stamped concrete be repaired?

Small cracks can be filled and color matched. Large repairs are harder to hide, which is one reason clients sometimes prefer pavers.

Is stamped concrete slippery?

Textured patterns grip well. A non-slip additive in the sealer helps near pools and steps.

Can an existing slab be resurfaced?

Sound slabs can often be resurfaced with decorative overlays. We check cracks and levels first.
