Excavation, regrading and compacted pads that give patios, lawns and structures a level, well-drained foundation.
Every good landscape starts with the ground. Grading sets the slopes that move water, the levels that make patios and lawns usable and the foundation that keeps structures stable. When the grading is wrong, nothing built on top of it can be right.
We grade residential lots with skid steers, mini excavators and laser levels, shaping slopes, building level pads, cutting terraces and compacting fill in lifts. We plan where the soil goes, protect trees and utilities and leave the ground ready for hardscape, sod or planting.
Lawns should slope away from the house at about two percent or more and never pool water. Patios need a quarter inch per foot. We set string lines and laser grades before we move earth, so the finished shape matches the plan.
Fill soil must be compacted in thin layers, or it will settle after the first heavy rain. We use plate compactors and rollers, and we place stone base under hardscape. Skipping compaction is the leading cause of sinking patios.
Before we dig we locate utilities and mark root zones to protect. We plan access, stockpiles and erosion control, and we leave the site tidy.
Grading is the first step in nearly every project. Done correctly it saves effort and money later. We take pride in the work you will never see because every beautiful surface depends on it.

At least two percent away from the house is a common target, and more near foundations.
Yes, with care. We avoid cutting or burying roots.
We reuse it on site where possible, and haul away what you do not need.
Larger earth moving or changes near property lines may need one. We plan for local rules.
