Fresh mulch, river rock and decorative stone with proper edging and weed barrier so beds stay neat and easier to keep.
Mulch and stone are the finishing layer of a landscape. They hold moisture, moderate soil temperature, suppress weeds and give beds a polished look. The right material in the right place can save hours of upkeep every season.
We install shredded hardwood mulch, pine bark, pine straw, river rock, lava rock and decorative gravel, with steel, stone or paver edging and, where it helps, landscape fabric. We prepare the bed, edge it and spread material to the right depth so it looks full and lasts.
Organic mulch feeds the soil as it breaks down but needs topping up. Stone lasts and is good for drainage swales, dry creek beds and areas near the house. We match the material to the job and the look.
Two to three inches of mulch is enough, and more can smother roots. Stone beds need clean edging so the stone stays where it belongs. Crisp edges are what make a bed look professional.
Landscape fabric under stone helps but is not magic. We prepare the bed carefully, remove perennial weeds and use pre-emergent where it makes sense. A well-prepared bed needs far less weeding.
A light refresh in spring keeps beds looking sharp. Fluff the existing mulch, top up thin areas and re-edge. Stone beds may only need cleaning of debris and an occasional topping. We offer simple routines that keep beds neat.
