Landscape Installation

Trees, shrubs, perennials and beds installed to a plan, with soil prepared, plants set correctly and everything mulched and watered in.

A new landscape looks best when plants are chosen carefully and set properly. Installation is where a good plan succeeds or fails: planting depth, soil preparation, spacing and watering in decide how fast the garden grows in and how many plants make it through the first year.

We install complete landscapes from a plan or from your wish list: foundation plantings, front yard makeovers, screening, shade trees, perennial borders and lawns, with edging, mulch, irrigation and lighting coordinated. We care about the first season, not just the install day.

Soil and preparation

Middle Tennessee clay needs help. We loosen compacted soil, blend in compost, build gentle mounds where drainage is poor and plant at the correct depth, with the root flare visible. These details are the difference between a plant that thrives and one that struggles.

Right plant, right place

We place plants by sun, moisture and mature size, not just appearance. Space matters: a shrub that grows to six feet should not be planted two feet from a window. We aim for a design that looks good now and in ten years.

The first season

New plants need regular, deep watering through their first year. We provide a watering schedule, mulch correctly and check back to replace any plants that fail to establish where plant care has been followed.

Caring for new plants

New plants need deep, regular watering, mulch and patience. Most failures come from too little or too much water. We leave a simple watering guide and check back so small problems are caught early.

Questions

Landscape Installation FAQ

When is the best time to plant?

Fall and early spring are ideal in Tennessee because roots can establish before summer heat. Container plants can go in most of the year with care.

What if a plant struggles after planting?

Call us. We explain how to care for new plants and check on them after planting, and many plant problems turn out to come from watering.

Can you plant around existing trees?

Yes. We work around roots carefully and choose plants that tolerate shade and dry conditions.

Can you install irrigation with the planting?

Yes. Drip lines and sprinkler zones are easiest to add during installation.

How soon will the landscape look full?

Most beds fill in over two to three seasons. Larger plants give a faster look at a higher cost.
