Artificial Turf

Synthetic turf for play areas, pet runs and small yards, installed on a drained base that stays flat, clean and green.

Artificial turf solves problems that natural grass cannot: shady corners where nothing grows, high-traffic play areas, pet runs that turn to mud and tiny courtyards where mowing is a nuisance. Modern turf looks and feels remarkably natural.

We install synthetic turf over a compacted crushed stone base with proper drainage, secure the edges and seams, and infill with sand or antimicrobial infill where appropriate. We use quality blades and backing designed to handle sun and use.

Base and drainage

A good turf base is graded and compacted crushed stone that drains. Rain moves through the turf and into the soil. Poor bases cause wrinkles and puddles, which is why base work is the most important step.

Seams and edges

Seams are cut and joined with seaming tape and adhesive so they disappear. Edges are anchored with nails or spikes into a border of pavers, steel edging or timber.

Pets, play and care

Turf made for pets drains quickly and resists odors with the right infill. Occasional brushing and rinsing keep it fresh. Play areas can include a safety layer under swings.

Keeping turf clean

Brush the blades occasionally to keep them upright, rinse pet areas and remove leaves with a blower. Avoid open flames and very hot items on the surface. These simple habits keep turf fresh for years.

Questions

Artificial Turf FAQ

Does artificial turf get hot?

It can warm in direct sun. Lighter colors, shade and a quick rinse reduce heat.

Is it safe for dogs?

Yes, with pet-rated turf and infill, and regular cleaning.

How long does turf last?

Quality turf can last many years with proper care. Sun and use decide longevity.

Can turf be installed over existing grass?

We remove the grass and soil and build a proper base, because turf over grass would settle and drain poorly.

Can artificial turf be used under a swing set?

Yes, with a safety layer beneath for impact absorption, which we can include.
